This path is a good fit for individuals seeking a more supported home insemination experience, and Seattle Sperm Bank has partnered with Béa Fertility to offer a comprehensive, well-supported option.
It combines donor sperm from Seattle Sperm Bank with Béa’s FDA-cleared, clinical-grade insemination device, while also providing guidance and support Béa’s Lead Fertility Coach, Maggie. Maggie is a fertility and women’s health nurse with over 13 years of experience in fertility and reproductive care.

The Béa Applicator
The core technology behind the Béa Treatment is the Béa Applicator. The FDA-cleared Class II medical device (the highest safety classification for at-home insemination) was precision-engineered to provide a clinical home insemination option that optimizes your chances of conception.
Optimized Cervical Cap Approach
The Béa Applicator uses a cervical cap method designed to hold sperm closer to the cervix. This method has been shown to have a significantly higher pregnancy rate per cycle. 15.2% compared with 5.9% for syringe-based methods.[2]
Designed to Protect Sperm
The applicator delivers semen directly to the cervix using a protective cervical cap, shielding sperm from the naturally acidic vaginal environment and creating a 3.23x higher sperm concentration at the cervix where it matters most.[1]
Keeps Sperm Where it Counts
The cervical cap containing semen wraps around the cervix, holding semen in the optimal place inside the body, minimizing semen backflow and maximizing contact time with cervical mucus.[3]

How the Béa Applicator Works
Step 1: Identify your fertile window
Use your preferred method, such as LH strips, an app, or physical symptoms, to spot the ovulation “peak.” This signals that it’s time to use your Béa Applicator.
Our fertility coaches are available to help you pinpoint your fertile window and choose the right method of tracking ovulation for you.
Step 2: Prepare your donor sperm and load the applicator
After thawing your donor sperm vial, pour the sample into the applicator’s orange funnel. This funnels sperm down into the folded cervical cap inside the applicator. One the donor sperm has drained through the orange funnel, remove it from the applicator.
Step 3: Insert the applicator
Lie in a comfortable position and gently insert the applicator. Turn the handle to release the cervical cap into the vagina, then remove the applicator leaving the cap behind in place on the cervix.
Step 4: Let the cervical cap work
Leave the cervical cap in place for 3–5 hours while it does its job. The cap’s string will stay outside the body for easy removal later. You can relax during this time, everything is working on its own.
Step 5: Remove
Gently pull the string to remove the cap.

- Had vaginal or cervical surgery within the last three months
- A known silicone allergy
- Had a colposcopy with biopsy or treatment within the last three months
- A vaginal or uterine prolapse
- A known sexually transmitted infection (STI)
- Active vaginal irritation or lesions
- Had a hysterectomy
- Had a loss of fallopian tubes or tubal ligation
- Currently pregnant

- Based on a postcoital test of another cervical cap device vs intercourse (Pelekanos, 2015). The Béa device was not used in this study. PCT scores do not predict pregnancy. Results vary.
- Based on a randomized cross-over study comparing cervical cap insemination (15.2% pregnancies per cycle) with syringe-based intracervical insemination (5.9%) (Flierman et al., 2017). The Béa device was not used in this study. Pregnancy rates are per cycle and results vary.
- Refers to semen delivery to a cervical cap placed at the cervix, which may limit sperm exposure to vaginal fluids. Evidence cited relates to laboratory and observational findings that certain vaginal conditions/bacteria and lower pH can impair sperm motility. The device does not sterilize the vagina, kill bacteria, alter the vaginal microbiome, prevent sexually transmitted infections, or act as contraception. Individual results vary.
